Featured – VIRM1 refurbishment
About the VIRMm1 project
The VIRMm1 project entails the refurbishment and modernisation of 81 VIRM-1 trains. The VIRM series is a real workhorse for the Dutch Railways. During a single rush hour trip up to a 1000 people can travel with this train.
During this project Patrick Andriessen – hired by Verebus Engineering - was responsible for collecting and structuring technical and configuration information from the project organisation, and make it available to the operator (NS) and maintenance organisation (NedTrain).
Together with NedTrain we made it possible that spare parts could be ordered and that information describing the new train was made available to the maintenance engineers and train repair shops. With Verebus Engineering new reference documentation was created and the illustrated spare part catalogue updated.
This project was particularly successful because all parties involved in maintaining the new train were ready even before the first train was delivered.
